Castle Rock Cavies

6/22/2016 - Many apologies, I haven't had the time to redo this website as of yet, a lot of personal things going over the last few years. We still raise cavies and actively show. Our current breeds consist of Americans in creams and whites, Teddies in both intense and dilute brokens, a few Teddy Satins in brokens, and Texels in brokens and some self blacks. We no longer raise Skinnies or Baldwins. We will have a limited amount of sale animals as we approach the ARBA National Convention in Del Mar this, if interested in what we have for sale or to be put on a wait list please email us at castlerockcavies@yahoo.com. Thank you!

This is the new caviary website! I hope you enjoy it, I know I'm liking the ease of updating the pages over the previous site so let's hope everyone can get around better and faster. For those of you who have been to our website previous, we're glad you found us again and thanks for coming back!

For those of you who have no idea who we are allow me to introduce you! We are a small caviary located just outside the city of Sacramento, CA that generally keeps around 30 animals.

Tamara is the one responsible for updating the website, she has been raising and showing cavies since 1997 when she first joined 4-H. Starting with Americans, she has now expanded to include Texels and some Teddies and Teddy Satins. Tamara obtained her ARBA cavy registrar's license in 2002 and has recently earned her ARBA cavy judge's license in the beginning of 2009.

The other half of the caviary is Steven, an ARBA Cavy registrar since 2013, he has been raising cavies for about 7 years and was the one who started Tamara into Teddies and Teddy Satins. He earned his first major win with his Teddy Satins in 2009 at the ARBA National convention in San Diego where he placed Best Opposite Sex of Breed with his boar DaVinci. He earned Reserve in Show at the 2010 CA state fair with DaVinci's half brother Pedro. More recently he won Reserve in Show at the 2015 ARBA National Convention in Portland with a Teddy Sr boar named Shamrock.
